SLS Brickell Miami Wedding | Shahira & Alex — DIPP Photography

Shahira & Alex’s wedding at SLS Brickell Miami was amazing. There were so many modern-day elements fused with their culture, and let me tell you, their taste is impeccable!

My bride and groom initially met nearly five years ago at a brunch party. One of the bride's good friends just so happened to have gone to college with Alex. Introductions were made, and from that point on they experienced life side by side. Or, they became inseparable as Shahira would say! They’ve traveled the world together to experience new cultures and they love to play tennis and ski together. When they’re not busy traveling or staying active they slow down for date night by trying new restaurants and sipping wine.

As far as the proposal, well that didn’t happen until their fourth anniversary. Shahira and Alex are both from Canada. During lockdowns, they were prohibited from traveling, but as soon as the borders opened up they took a trip to Miami to visit the bride's best friend. From there, Shahira and Alex continued on to the Bahamas together. During the third night of their trip, which also happened to fall on their four-year anniversary, Alex took Shahira down by the shore and surprised her by dropping down on one knee and asking for her hand in marriage. The proposal took place at SLS Baha Mar, making SLS a special part of their story, which is why they later decided to host their wedding at SLS Brickell Miami.

Their wedding at SLS Brickell Miami was so stunning! Everything was a gorgeous crisp shade of white with small touches of black added in. Shahira’s wedding gown was a romantic lacy off-the-shoulder dress, and she was a gorgeous bride. But where my bride and groom made the biggest splash was on the dance floor.
