Miami Maternity Photographer
As a Miami maternity photographer, this ethereal session on the beach was a beautiful way for Mom & Dad to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their sweet bundle. I don’t talk about it quite enough, but oftentimes so many of my wedding clients will come to me asking whether I offer maternity photography or family photography, and the answer is yes. It’s such an honor getting to know my couples during the wedding planning process. But, when they return and I get to see their family grow and expand with love, it’s truly something special.
Maternity Pictures Miami
When I work with families on maternity pictures in Miami, we typically select a location for their photoshoot that is outdoors. For the session featured below, we decided to meet at the beach during sunrise. Though it may be early, scheduling your maternity pictures in Miami at this time of day ensures a few key elements. First, we will more than likely have the entire beach to ourselves. This means there are no beachgoers looking on as you celebrate this special moment centered around your baby. Second, sunrise photography, especially at a stunning beach in Miami, produces some of the most amazing sunlight possible. In photography, we call this golden hour. It’s the time of day when the golden rays of the sun drench the landscape around you and create a breathtaking scene for your maternity pictures. Lastly, scheduling a sunrise session gives you the rest of the day to enjoy each other's company with a day date or a mini ‘babymoon’.
Undoubtedly, the beach is an obvious choice for maternity pictures in Miami. But, if you are not a fan of walking in the sand or against the waves of the shoreline, there are plenty of other outdoor locations that I can recommend for your session. If your goal for the photoshoot is to be left with photos that are more editorial in nature, we can always explore the landscape of the city. If you have other children that you’d like to include in your session, local parks are an equally wonderful option for maternity pictures in Miami.
When to Schedule Your Session
Wondering when to work with your Miami maternity photographer? Typically anywhere right after your first trimester, up to 34 weeks is ideal. However, as a Mom myself, I understand that anything can arise during pregnancy, so the sooner you can schedule your maternity photos, the better. All too often, towards the final trimester, Moms are so ready to meet their sweet baby and not always feeling like the best version of themselves. While the rest of the world may be telling you that you are glowing and look beautiful, you may feel anything but. My goal when working with expectant moms is to focus on drawing out the beauty that the rest of the world sees. We will work on poses that flatter your adorable baby bump while ensuring your comfort level every step of the way.
Prior to your session, select a maternity gown that reflects your own personal style while honoring the location we’ve chosen. I also highly recommend that you exfoliate and hydrate your skin in advance. Professional hair and makeup are by no means required. But, if you dream of hanging these photos on the wall of your baby’s nursery, I do recommend taking the extra step and hiring a professional hair and makeup artist to work with you on the morning of your shoot.
