Bill Baggs State Park Engagement Photos — DIPP Photography

Alyson & Michael love enjoying the beach together as a couple, so there was no question about meeting at Bill Baggs State Park for their Engagement Photos!

Michael popped the question when the couple was on a trip to Puerto Rico for Michael’s mom’s birthday. Michael’s whole family was in on it and apparently told Alyson to pack a nice outfit for a night out they were planning that would include dinner on the beach. Almost unthinkingly, my beautiful bride also went to have her nails done. She thought that a trip to Puerto Rico called for a manicure full of bright bold colors, and something fun and tropical.

On the night of the big proposal, Michael’s mom gave Alyson the heads up that this would be their ‘fancy dinner out’ so Alyson rushed to get ready. The couple often likes to dress in coordinated outfits, and that night they both wore blue. Coincidentally, the color blue represents the healing nature of water and is a marker of loyalty and fidelity. How is that for fate?!

As the couple was “waiting” for the rest of Michael's family to head out to their ‘fancy dinner’, a photographer who had been posing as their tour guide/family friend asked if he could snap a photo of the couple. They then headed out for a pre-dinner drink when Michael suggested that they take a walk on the beach alone as they ‘waited’ for his family. When they walked down the steps to the beach Alyson saw chairs, candles, and champagne set up, but again she didn’t think anything of it because this was typically the way that Michael set things up for her on date nights (awww!).

The couple continued their walk down to the beach to enjoy the sunset on the waters of Puerto Rico when Michael fell to one knee and proposed. My sweet bride was so shocked and overcome with joy that she could not stop crying! The ring was an absolutely gorgeous radiant cut diamond with a halo and diamonds all along the band. It was everything she could have possibly dreamed of and more. At the time of the proposal, the couple, who are both now accountants were in the middle of studying for their CPA licenses so Alyson was truly shocked that Michael had chosen this time in their lives to make it official.

The remainder of their evening was spent celebrating and sipping champagne with the groom's family. Once they arrived home from their trip, they held a formal engagement party so that Alyson’s family could attend and celebrate this exciting new chapter!

I love how their proposal happened at the beach in Puerto Rico. Then their Engagement Photoshoot took place at Billy Baggs Park (more beach!) And lastly, Alyson & Michael’s wedding day will be held at Briza on the Bay (more water!)
