Adventurous Antarctica Wedding With Atlas Ocean Voyages
It was the very first legal wedding ever performed in Antarctica through Atlas Ocean Voyages and Dipp Photography was there to photograph every moment!
It’s hard to imagine that my job as a wedding photographer in Miami would take me all the way to Antarctica. And, it literally happened!! A client of mine that I worked with over 5 years ago had just recently started working for Atlas Ocean Voyages when they recommended me for this extra special trip. The cruise, set up by Atlas Ocean Voyages was the trip of a lifetime for couples who wanted the chance to have an adventurous wedding in Antarctica. During this trip, we worked with 4 uniquely special couples to capture their moment in the icy reaches of the South Pole. I’m sharing a bit of info on each of the couples, plus some behind-the-scenes moments, below!

Courtnie & Brody
Courtnie and Brody are a self-proclaimed adventure-loving globe-trotting couple!! They were the very first couple on this trip to be legally married. Coincidentally they were also the very first couple in line to book this trip when the opportunity to get married in Antarctica arose. They were full of smiles and fun moments and Courtnie picked the perfect long sleeve wedding dress to stand out in Antarctica.
Karisa & Daniel
Karisa and Daniel were another couple to be legally married in the southernmost continent of the world! When it was their time to tie the knot, we got lucky with a placid ocean! This allowed us the opportunity to ride the zodiac with the cruise tour guide who was so accommodating. He took us around for some of the most breathtaking views ever!
Maria & Chris
Maria and Chris are such a sweet couple! They were so affectionate and loving with one another, and it was an absolute joy to work with them on their wedding day. As if it could get any better than that, they also went for a Game of Thrones theme with their wedding day capes! Wait until you see how awesome they looked! However, the wind got the better of us when it was their time to tie the knot, and to say it was extreme wind would be an understatement. But, this sweet couple didn’t let it ruin their moment and we tried to use that wind to our advantage for a little cape action!
Kristen & Ken
The last beautiful couple that we were absolutely elated to work with was Kristen and Ken. They signed up for this trip so that they could have a vow renewal, to celebrate their 40 years of love! Yes, FORTY! Their only wish for this trip was to have tiny black and white guests, who were tuxedo ready. And they got exactly what they wished for, there were penguins everywhere and they were the absolute cutest thing.
Behind the Scenes!
Look, you can’t journey to the southernmost tip of the world without taking some behind-the-scenes photos! Though our couples looked amazing and they were wedding day ready, we were professionally bundled and so ready to get to work to capture their moment. We were lucky enough to have the cruise line expedition photographer take the group photo depicted below. I also added in a few behind-the-scenes photos that we snapped on our iPhones in between work!
