2023 Year in Review
2023 was quite a year for Dipp Photography! We experienced all that the new market in the “emerged from the pandemic“ wedding industry brought our way, and we officially went from Dipp Photography to Dipp Photography and Films! A super exciting period of growth and a whole new way to serve our couples who are tying the knot. While we could go on and on about all the things we experienced behind the scenes like editing marathons, being business owners and parents, and learning how to best show up in our business while also navigating what this period of growth has looked like, we’d rather take the time to look back on all the couples we worked with in 2023. We’re sharing it all! Proposals, engagements, destination weddings, and weddings in some of the most amazing venues that Miami has to offer. Keep reading for more!
Miami Proposal Photographer
Alfy reached out to us because he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend, Emylee. Alfy is the brother of a former client of ours, so we were thrilled to be part of this major milestone in his and Emylee’s life. But, he needed a little help to set the scene and capture the moment, you can read more about their story, at this link.

After the proposal comes the engagement! For us, working with our couples on their engagement photos prior to their wedding day gives us insight to their story. It helps us understand their love language, while also getting them comfortable in front of the camera ahead of their wedding day. It gives our couples the opportunity to celebrate their new relationship status before jumping right into wedding planning. Here are a few of our favorite engagement photo locations (and couples!) from 2023.
Tatiana and Eddie’s engagement photos in Miami were on a whole other level! We love it when our couples come to us with fresh ideas and creative takes, and we are always on board to make it happen. To see more of their session, follow this link.
I feel like we say this a lot, but this shoot was beyond special! Elba’s brother, Guillermo, had proposed to his long-time partner and they were officially engaged. For obvious reasons (Elba’s role in the bridal party!) we wouldn’t be capturing their wedding, but we did have an amazing time shooting their engagement photos in the Miami Design District.
Renee is from Miami but relocated to Korea. Once there, she met the love of her life, GB. When their relationship status moved to “engaged” Renee knew that she wanted to capture the moment back home. You can find more of their engagement photos at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, here.
Childhood sweethearts that once got in trouble for their secret communications, Jennifer and Hasiel’s engagement session took place near the Key Biscayne bridge. They were steamy and incredibly chic! You can see more photos from their session, at this link.
With Sultry looks, tender handholding, and soft embraces, Katherine and Mark were at ease in each other’s arms for their engagement session at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
The beautiful thing about capturing engagement photos in Miami is that we have access to the beach, all year round! Isbel & Adrian’s seductive photoshoot took place at Hollywood Beach during sunset. You can see all the details, right here.
A fabulous backdrop with thematic attire can go a long way for engagement photos. That was the approach that Yohana & James took for their engagement photos at the Goldcoast Railroad Museum. The whole shoot evoked the essence of a 1940s romance!
Dreams Macao Beach Weddings
We had two very special destination weddings this year! Both of them just so happened to be at the same stunning venue, Dreams Macao Beach in Punta Cana. Our couples, Carolina and Christopher, and Althay and Alexis both chose beachy weddings with seaside views to be joined in marriage!
For a destination a little closer to home, this beautiful wedding at the Harbour House Oceanfront Venue blended together the bride's Cuban heritage with the groom's American roots. Embracing each of their cultures for a union filled with love!
miami wedding venues
Miami wedding venues have some of the most amazing beachfront views, exquisite service, and unforgettable backdrops for wedding photos. We celebrated with our couples as they were married at five star resorts, oceanfront venues, historic properties, and even one intimate at-home wedding during the holidays!
Talk about impeccable taste and style! Shahira and Alex’s wedding at SLS Brickell included heavy modern-day elements infused with culturally significant aspects. You can see more of their day, at this link.
Paola and Michael were headed to Colombia for their big wedding. But, they first needed an official ceremony in the States ahead of their destination wedding. You can see more of their intimate private home holiday vows, right here.
You might be surprised to know that the renowned Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables hosts intimate wedding days as well as grand and opulent weddings, and pretty much everything in between! Lauren and Craig, along with their four legged fur baby, said I do with their closest friends and family in attendance at the Biltmore Hotel.
Another amazing couple that chose the Biltmore to say I do, was Janette & Ruben. Janette is the sister of one of our past grooms, so we were elated to hear that she was now planning the wedding of her dreams! You can see every detail of their incredibly romantic wedding day, here.
We have to admit, Ashley and John’s wedding venue is quickly becoming one of our favorites! They said I do at the Trump National Doral in Miami and their wedding day had fun-filled moments at every turn!
With over 200 guests in attendance, Alyson and Michael became husband and wife at Briza on the Bay. Briza on the Bay provides a breathtaking backdrop with the cool waters of the bay, stretched out as far as the eye can see! You can see more, at this link.
Remember Katherine and Mark from their engagement session above? They selected Trump National Doral in Miami for their wedding day. From their attire to decor and the food and beverage service, their day was flawless from start to finish! You can see all the up-close details, at this link.
Elegant but laid back, The Palms Hotel and Spa in Miami Beach is a wedding venue located parallel to the beach. It’s an amazing location for sunset photos by the water, or for a couple who have a fun wedding party like Kristi and Luis! The bride and groom are originally from New York but knew they just had to host their wedding at The Palms. You can see more of their story, right here.
Laura and Luis are related to a close friend of ours who also works in the wedding industry. We love walking into a room of friendly faces that feel like family and Laura and Luis’s wedding was very much that experience for us! The couple chose to say I do at the Rusty Pelican and Laura’s bridal portraits are timeless and modern, you have to see them.
As we wrap up our list, we come to Francesca and Jordan. Francesca and Jordan were happily married at Plymouth Congregational Church in Miami. However, as luck would have it, it rained on their wedding day! Not exactly ideal weather for shooting wedding portraits. Because of that, Francesca and Jordan wanted to hit the “do-over” button on their wedding day portraits. How could we possibly say no? You can see their gorgeous outdoor portraits, right here.
That is officially a wrap on 2023! We are filled with gratitude for all the couples who chose us to document their love stories this year, and we are excited at what’s coming up in the year ahead. To connect with us, you can find us on Instagram @dippphotography!
