“Derek and I met about five years ago at work; quite possibly the least romantic place to meet. I was truly at a place in life where I was not looking for or expecting a love story. Life is funny sometimes and throws curveballs at you though because when I least expected it, I found my Prince Charming. I truly feel that fate brought us together. He asked me on dates, sent me chocolates and coffee, which are my absolute favorite, so obviously, I caved in.... and well, the rest is history.

Derek proposed to me two and a half years into our relationship. I was truly surprised and didn’t expect it. I already knew I wanted to spend my life with him, so knowing that he wanted the same made me the happiest I’d ever been.

We really wanted to get married, but we had a goal and wanted to find a home first. Within a year we were able to accomplish this, and after we moved and settled in, we started planning our wedding. Planning our wedding was fun; it wasn’t always easy, but it truly made us both happy. We knew we were planning this great event to celebrate our love, and all that we are and mean to each other.

The day of our wedding I was all nerves. I could barely eat or even think. The day before our wedding we decided to do a “first touch,” and exchange letters. When the time finally came around, and we held hands, I remember letting out a sigh of relief and again, I truly can’t explain it, but when I felt him there next to me, it was as if all felt right in the world and I was ready to walk down the aisle and marry the man of my dreams. Sure enough, when I walked down the aisle and saw him there waiting for me, I had a ball of emotions come over me and I was just so excited to know I would be spending the rest of my life with the man that I know loves me more than anything.

We are two completely different souls who make each other complete. I can’t describe it, but I truly cannot imagine my life without him; I love him unconditionally. With him, I can always be myself; he understands me and who I am, and loves me without reservation. We couldn’t be any more different, and yet, we are perfect for each other. I truly found my Prince Charming when I found him, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of our lives together has in store for us

Pretty soon, Elizabeth & Derek’s wedding day had arrived!

The bride & groom had an emotional ‘first touch’ just before their wedding ceremony took place at The Mayfield Hotel in Miami! Emotions flowed; and maybe even a few tears! Sweet love notes were exchanged around the corner while Elizabeth & Derek held hands and prepared to make their journey down the aisle.
