Miami Design District Engagement Photos

These steamy engagement photos captured in the Miami Design District, took place on the rooftop of the Museum Garage. The Miami Design District is a neighborhood known for its sleek architecture, art galleries, and luxurious boutiques. Public art installations mark the streets, making it feel as if you are stepping out of the busy nightlife that Miami is known for, and into another world.

Undoubtedly, the Miami Design District is an extraordinary backdrop for the engagement photos of any local couple. But, when it came to capturing the celebrated moments of my brother’s recent engagement, I knew a rooftop view of Miami’s sunny, cloudless sky with the Design District far off in the horizon would be the perfect way to celebrate this moment.

We often say that our client journey takes our couples from feeling like old friends to becoming family. However, this time we mean it quite literally! Yes, as siblings we may tease each other mercilessly (who doesn’t?!) And yes we’re both business owners in South Florida who have found community in the creative economy. But, this moment is a departure from our everyday lives. A milestone for all of our family and friends, and a memory in the making for my brother and his long-time partner on their journey to be joined in marriage. Working in such a heart-centered business as the wedding industry, I am often humbled to be such an integral part of any couple’s wedding day. Having a place in my brother’s journey to the altar, as his engagement photographer, is no different.

There are an endless number of locations in Miami to capture engagement photos. But to take a location like the Design District and strip it down to a rooftop view makes it a more intimate experience. One that removes the busy foot traffic, loud sounds, and views obstructed by tall buildings. Doing so kept the focus on the Guillermo & Lisandra. Allowing us time to shoot their engagement photos at a relaxed pace, with minimal distraction.
